This is the personal website of Steve McRoberts.

"Politics"
"Supporting our troops while they're fighting an immoral and illegal war is misguided and wrong. Members of our armed forces don't deserve insults, but their role in this war doesn't merit support... Cheering them as they leave and holding parades when they return would certainly be misinterpreted by citizens of other countries as popular support for an inglorious enterprise." --Ted Rall

When our troops invade other countries and kill their civilians, we invite their retaliation in the form of terrorism. Supporting our troops is thus not the way to fight terrorism, but the way in which it is perpetuated; in the endless cycle of violence begetting more violence.
-- Steve McRoberts

  • The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the U.S. has been found guilty by the European Court of: torture, abuse, and secretly imprisoning.
  • U.S. drones have senselessly maimed and killed thousands of people in Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan.
  • More than a million people have been killed and millions more turned into refugees in the U.S. war against Iraq: a country which had nothing to do with the 9/11 tragedy.

Please read what Tolstoy had to say about patriotism in 1900; it's as relevant today as it was then.

Then please read this brief, true history of the United States, that I wrote a few years ago.

God forgive America
Does "America" deserve a "blessing"
or is it in need of forgiveness?

Empathetic Activities (Good Deeds you can do!)
Action Some of the Results
  • Go vegan!
You'll save 96 animal lives each year, use 1/12 of the land resources, cause less pollution, and have a better chance at a longer and healthier life!
  • Lay down your guns, bows, knives, traps, & fishing rods.
Spread an attitude of non-violence, peace, and respect for all life.
  • Use mass transit (or walk, bike, or carpool).
Save us from greenhouse gases and oil drilling.
  • Stop smoking.
You won't contribute to the second-hand smoke that kills tens of thousands of non-smokers each year.
  • Reduce, reuse, & recycle.
Conserve our limited resources & reduce pollution caused in manufacturing new goods. Stop calling yourself a "consumer": start thinking of yourself as treading lightly on the Earth and taking only what you need.
  • Donate blood.
Save lives! Your blood is desperately needed (97% will need a transfusion sometime in their lives: only 3% ever donate blood)
  • Don't buy products with animal ingredients or that were tested on animals.
Lessen the needless suffering in the world.
  • Don't support wars of aggression.
Reduce the amount of needless human tragedies and hatred in the world.
  • Volunteer!
Giving of your time and/or talent is richly rewarding for all involved. It is one of the great joys in life!
  • Show your love!
Think of Love as a verb. Saying 'I love you' is nice, but showing your love by actions makes the statement come true.
  • Make it an important goal in your life to cause as little suffering and death as possible.
It is easy in our industrialized, high-tech society to turn a blind eye to the needless suffering we indirectly cause. Your day to day choices can have a big impact on others, on animals, and on the planet.
  • Have no more than 2 children.
You won't contribute to the human overpopulation problem: there will be less of a burden on Earth's resources, and more to go around.
  • Click on the following links daily.
Small cash donations will be made to the causes below by their various sponsors each day you click.
